Friends since the early 1990's, Terry met Jeff and Christine through a
Scottish history re-enactment group known as Clann Tartan. "Clann
Tartan gatherings brought us together but being neighbors made us a
group", says Jeff. They would talk of some aspect of history
or culture and connect it to today, which always led to music.
The three started out just playing at each others' homes, always
finding a welcome even though they'd stop by with little warning.
Growing through their music, |
over the years they have established a deep connection to each other
and the Irish music they delight in playing together. If you ask the group why they enjoy
traditional Irish music so much you'll likely hear an answer like this,
"It speaks to us in ways other music does not. The ballads, both old
and new, touch on the timeless and resonate truth. The dance music has
a life of its own. The airs with or without words have a profound
effect. To play such music is an obsession and a privilege." |
